Welcome to our little slice of God's Kingdom, nestled between the man-made waterways of Mountain Lakes, NJ. We are a church of faithful, forgiven, and redeemed servants who desire to be faithful in every area of our lives to the King of all kings, Jesus Christ. He who not only gave His life for us, but who now, by His holy and infallible Word, directs and governs our actions, our ministries, and our concern for all people... especially those who do not know God's love in Christ. Jesus alone inspires us to be active disciples, driven to reach out with His love and compassion by addressing the needs of those where we work, live, and play.
This Lent, our life in Christ will be strengthened as we hear from the witnesses of those who were present as part of Jesus’ journey to the cross. Each week will paint a stunning portrait of Jesus through the eyes of the witnesses of His Passion (via in St. John’s Gospel). John tells us he wrote his Gospel: “so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name.” (John 20:30–31) Along the way, we’ll meet villains, such as Barabbas and Pontius Pilate; sinners, such as Peter (who denied Jesus three times), Mary Magdalene (who was possessed by seven demons) and Judas Iscariot (who betrayed Jesus for thirty pieces of silver); as well as other people from His passion. Each week will look at the life and death of our Savior through the eyes of those who were directly there.
We will have midweek luncheons each Wednesday in Lent, beginning at noon with a soup & bread luncheon. After a time of wonderful food and fellowship, we will have an abbreviated time of worship and a devotional/Bible study. Our theme this year is entitled “Dying His Death, Living His Life.” Each week we will look at those things that were put to death on the cross so that we might receive the blessings on new life in Christ. The cycle of death and life did not end with Jesus; it continues in us as we follow Him today. God is regularly redeeming, refining, and reshaping our lives.
